18-1's: The morning pool play ended in a 3-way tie for second place. SCVC's 18 Q's went undefeated to take 1st in the pool, and everyone else had match records of 1 and 2 with the same game records of 2 and 4. The tie breaker came down to point differential, which ended up putting Balboa Bay 18Silver, by a difference of 0.02 points, in second place above the 18-1's. In the afternoon play-off brackets, the 18-1's went on to win both games, beating Balboa Bay 17Quicksilver and Epic 18Darrell. They remain in 5 place in the 18 and under standings.
17-1's: The 17-1's continued their winning ways going undefeated in the morning pool play, taking down three 18 year old teams from Legacy, Spectrum and Balboa Bay. In the afternoon play-off bracket, the 17-1's won their first game against Balboa Bay 17White, and ended up losing their final match of the day to HBC 18's. With the second place finish in their pool, the 17-1's continue to elevate their SCVA ranking and are currently ranked 26th in the 18 and under standings, climbing 7 places.
17-2's: The 17-2's had a tougher day, losing all three matches in the morning pool play. They went in to the afternoon play-off bracket to play Spectrum 18's and ending up losing that match. The 17-2's dropped 3 places in the SCVA 18 and under ranking from 32 to 35.
16-1's: The 16-1's started the day with a three game win over SMBC 16Black. The second match of the day was against Baja 16's, whom they beat the week before in a close three game match. This match also went to three, but ended up as a Baja win. The 16-1's played a close match against the eventual winners of the pool, Highline 16Black, but lost the match in two. The 16-1's ended the morning pool play in third place. The afternoon play-off bracket started with a win against OC Riptides 16Orange, but ended with a loss to Legacy 16-1's. This dropped the 16-1's in the SCVA standings from a tie for 11th to 14th in the 16 and under group.
16-2's: The 16-2's had a tough tournament, losing all three matches in morning pool play. They also lost their first match of the playoff brackets, putting them in 56th place in the 16 and under standings.
SCVA Qualifying Tournament Results from November 21/22:
18-1's: Day 1 was uneventful, protecting their #1 seed and moving on to the second day against other day 1 pool winners. Day 2 was a competitive morning pool against Riptides OC 18Orange, Balboa Bay 17Quicksilver, and SCVC 18Q's. Three of the six matches in the pool went to 3 games, but with a ending record of 1 and 2, the 18-1's ended pool play in 3rd place. In the afternoon play-off's, the 18-1's won both matches to end the tournament in 5th place.
17-1's: The 17-1's went through day 1 without losing a game. Day 2's play-off brackets went similarly without dropping a game, beating Seaside 17Black, Seaside 18Green, and Balboa Bay 18Black in single elimination play-offs to win the Silver Division.
17-2's: The 17-2's pulled out two 3-game nail-biters and won all three matches to go into Day 2 with other Silver Division winners. On Day 2, the 17-2's won two matches against Legacy 17-1, and Riptides SB 17Orange, to set up a final against Balboa Bay 17White. Although the match was close, the 17-2's lost in two games with scores of 23-25 and 30-32.
16-1's: The 16-1's lost their first match of the day to SCVC's 16Q's team. The next two matches, although close, ended in W's to put them in Day 2 with other 2nd place finishers in the Gold Division. Day 2 started slow with a loss to High Line 16Black in two. The next match against Santa Barbara 16Spikers was a win in two, setting up a showdown for 2nd place in the pool. The match against Baja ending up having the biggest crowd of the day after a 25-23 win in the first game, and marathon 30-32 loss in the second game. The third and deciding game ended up with a win at 15-12, putting the 16-1's in the Gold D3 play-off pool to decide 9th through 12th place. With a loss in the first match of the play-offs, the 16-1's ended the tournament in a tie for 11th place.
16-2's: The 16-2's started strong with a first game win, but lost the match in three. They ended the day with two more losses, putting them in 4th place and into Day 2 with other 4th place finishers in the Silver division. The 16-2's started their play-off bracket in the morning, but bowed out early, after a loss to Riptides SB 16Blue.

17-1's: The 17-1's played well finishing second in Pool 5, losing only one match to the eventual winners in the pool SMBC (Santa Monica Beach Club) 18Silver
17-2's: The 17-2's rolled through Pool 15 without dropping a game. Their first match of the day was competitive playing two tough games against Epic 18Kaui (see pictures in the photo gallery), but still closing them out in two. Then they made quick work of the remaining competition, disposing of the Maverick 17's and Temecula 18's with both opponents only scoring 24 points in the entire match!
